Russell Goldman is a filmmaker from Virginia. He studied film at Wesleyan University. His genre-defying body of work follows uniquely obsessed characters to nightmarish ends.

His first feature film, SENDER, premiered in competition at SXSW in March 2026. It stars Britt Lower, Rhea Seehorn, David Dastmalchian, Anna Baryshnikov, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The film received raves from Variety, Deadline, and Screen Rant among others. It was selected as the Marquee Presentation at San Francisco International Film Festival, and will continue to play festivals around the world this year in advance of a theatrical release.

His award-winning short films, including BURN OUTCLOSING TIME, and RETURN TO SENDER, have played at Fantastic Fest, Fantaspoa, Frameline, New/Next, Rooftop Films, Sidewalk, Uppsala, and Woodstock, among others.

He is also the co-author of Mother Nature, a graphic novel by Blumhouse and Titan Comics that he wrote with Jamie Lee Curtis and Karl Stevens.

Russell lives in Los Angeles with his wife Victoria and their cats Grey and Gus.
