Russell Goldman is a filmmaker from Virginia. He studied film at Wesleyan University. His genre-defying body of work follows particularly obsessed characters to nightmarish ends. 

His body of work, including BURN OUT, CLOSING TIME and RETURN TO SENDER, has played at hundreds of film festivals across the world, including Fantastic Fest, Fantaspoa, Frameline, New/Next, Rooftop Films, San Francisco, Sidewalk, Uppsala, and Woodstock. 

His first feature film, SENDER, premiered in competition at SXSW in March 2026. It stars Britt Lower, Rhea Seehorn, David Dastmalchian, Anna Baryshnikov, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

He is also the co-author of Mother Nature, a graphic novel by Blumhouse and Titan Comics that he wrote with Jamie Lee Curtis and Karl Stevens.
